Sturtevant's of Sun Valley has been serving the Wood River Valley since 1948. With stores in three locations, and now on the web, we are able to serve our community better than any other ski and sport shop in the area. Our highly experienced staff uses the gear we sell everyday, it's hard not to when there is so much to do so close to home. On our staff we have skiers, snowboarders, telemarkers, mountain bikers, roadies, nordic skiers, fly fisherman, hockey players and tennis players. Jeffrey Davis - General Manager . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . An All-American football player out of the University of Nevada-Reno where he received his Degree in Business. After shorts stints with the 49ers and the Jets, he went on to get his Black Belt degree in Jujitsu and became a National Champion as well as a Silver Medalist at the world Jujitsu Championships. He settled down in Blaine county to indulge his love of fly fishing, hunting, camping, and snowboarding. Currently, he is the fourth generation owner of the Hailey homestead he shares with his beautiful wife and two daughters. He has been employed with Sturtevant's Mountain outfitters for the last 6 years. "I love the Sun Valley area because I can be out into the wilderness in two minutes in any direction". Jim Santa - Fishing Gear . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . With over 20 years in the outdoors industry including both retail and sales representative experience, I have been with Sturtevants Mountain Outfitters the past 10 years having worked in all of our 4 locations. In the winter I enjoy skiing the mountain, playing hockey and am a "mid-pack" nordic racer. My favorite warmer weather activities include cycling, both road and mountain, camping and pursuing my life long passion of fly fishing. I grew up in northern Minnesota and now choose to make Sun Valley my home as it provides one of the best environments anywhere to enjoy all of my outdoor pursuits, often times more than one in the same day. Maggie Thurston - Apparel . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I've been in the outdoor business for the last 4 years but have enjoyed outdoor recreation all my life. Since I was a little kid I have always been very active in skiing, fishing, water skiing and playing tennis. Since I came to Ketchum I have become involved in a few other activities including, mountain biking, hiking and fly fishing. Moving to Sun Valley has been a real pleasure for me since all my favorite activities are right at my door step. Heather Stanton - Apparel . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I've been involved in the outdoor industry for over 15 years, working in retail and as a keen participant. Sun Valleys' beauty and small town feel are obvious appeals but its opportunities for my favorite activities mountain biking, trail running, and skiing make it an ideal place to live. Todd Byle - Bikes & Snowboards . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . My love for outdoor action sports began at age 7 by jumping as many neighbor kids as I could on my BMX bike. At my father's strong objection, I started skiing at age 10 in the Oregon cascades. Began working in the ski and bike industry shortly after high school in Winnepeg, Canada. And here we are, 16 or so years later. . . I bring to Sturtevants my experience in athletics, administrative studies, machine shop practices and the outdoor industry. Instructed by some of Canada's leading experts in boot fitting and bicycle fitness, my background allows me to understand and adapt to the physiology and needs of all levels of outdoors men (and women).
