Fly Girls 2010!

Learn to fly-fish with the best of ‘em in a fun, non-intimidating environment led by Guide Morgan Buckert!

Fly Girls is a women's only fly-fishing school for all levels. Entering its fifth year, this program provides custom instruction whether you've never held a fly rod or need to work on your double haul. Learn about flies, how to read water, tie knots, proper equipment, set-up, and how to cast a fly rod. You'll have the camaraderie of other women while you're on the water, the best classroom of all!

FlyGirls FAQs

What kind of previous fly-fishing experience is required?
No experience is necessary. Our guides will tailor and personalize the course to the needs of each individual. . . novice to expert. There will be a maximum of three anglers per guide.

Do I need a fishing license?
Yes, a current Idaho fishing license is required but not included. You can purchase your license in our store prior to the start of your class or buy online before your trip by visiting Idaho Fish and Game Online.

What should I bring?
Sturtevants will provide the fishing gear at no extra cost (you can use your own if you have it). You should have a rain jacket, cap, shorts, long-sleeved shirt, thermal socks & long-jane's for use under waders, sunscreen and sunglasses. A fleece-top and rain-jacket may be helpful in the unlikely event of "weather".
