What is FlyGirls?
Fly Girls is a two-day fishing school designed by women for women. Lead Guide Debbie Boyd takes pride in the course being extremely informative for all skill levels but, also being a fun weekend for The Girls. This is accomplished by spending as much time outside and on the river (not in a class room) and keeping a maximum 3-1 (normally 2-1) guest to instructor/ guide ratio. This allows for a customized curriculum depending on ability. All instructors are experienced Sturtevants Mountain Outfitter Guides with exceptional knowledge of the sport and our local waters. FlyGirls FAQs
What kind of previous fly-fishing experience is required?
No experience is necessary. Our guides will tailor and personalize the course to the needs of each individual. . . novice to expert. There will be a maximum of three anglers per guide.
Do I need a fishing license?
A current Idaho fishing license is required but not included. An Idaho non-resident adult fishing license for 2-days is $16.50 ($11.50 for the first day and $5 for each consecutive day). You can purchase your license on-site prior to the start of your class or save time and buy your license before your trip by visiting Idaho Fish and Game Online.
What should I bring?
Sturtevants will provide the fishing gear at no extra cost (you can use your own if you have it). You should have a rain jacket, cap, shorts, long-sleeved shirt, thermal socks & long-jane's for use under waders, sunscreen and sunglasses. A fleece-top and rain-jacket may be helpful in the unlikely event of "weather".
